The Valley of Elah is now an Olympic stadium. Two color commentators in headsets call the action live as Israel and Philistia square off in a forty-day standoff that has become must-see television. Goliath does smug pre-fight interviews. David is interviewed too — short, polite, weirdly calm. Highlight reels run. Brackets are filled out. Then a kid with a sling steps onto the field, the commentators mock him, and the ball game ends in twelve seconds.
Theme — Goliath had the press, the height, and the bracket. David had God.
What you get
- Full PDF script — broadcast-format retelling of 1 Samuel 17 (20 min runtime)
- Cast: 12 (David, Goliath, 2 commentators, King Saul, 4 Israelite soldiers, 3 Philistine fans)
- Big stadium energy — perfect for a Day 5 grand finale
- Quiet sling-and-silence moment for the gospel hook to land
Best for
2nd–6th grade VBS, big-cast camps, sports-night themed weeks, churches that want their final-day skit to be a true showstopper. Four rehearsals recommended for the commentator timing.
