WHAT

A warm, lively children’s Christmas play following a group of shepherds who witness the angelic announcement and set off on an adventure to Bethlehem. Along the way, they meet merchants, travelers, and excited children all buzzing about the miracle unfolding that night. A joyful and simple retelling of Luke 2 built for small churches.

HOW

Use simple staging:

• Left Side: Shepherds’ hillside
  
  

• Center: Road to Bethlehem
  
  

• Right Side: Manger area or simple backdrop
  Lighting shifts help indicate the angel’s appearance and the star’s brightness. Movement should be fun and energetic to keep younger audiences engaged.
  
  

PROPS

Shepherd staffs, small lanterns, cloth bags, star cutout on stick (or lighting), simple robes, merchant basket, scroll, bundles tied with rope.
