The Run-Down Lodge - Easter Skits for Teens
Description
Summary
A traveling Christian drama group arrives at a run-down lodge the night before their big Easter production. The lodge is falling apart: doors stick, lights flicker, and the whole place feels like it might sneeze itself into dust. The group is supposed to rehearse, rest, and refocus… but instead, stress turns into competition. Tom, a high-schooler with a sincere heart, wants to do well but feels insecure and easily overshadowed. Logan, the stardom-obsessed costar, treats Easter like a talent showcase and wants the biggest moments. Kathryn, the director, is jealous of attention, obsessed with perfection, and convinced that if the show isn’t impressive, it won’t matter. Amanda, the production assistant, tries to keep everyone together while doing the unglamorous work no one thanks her for. Sara Montgomery, a college student and Tom’s sister, questions whether they’re even doing this for Jesus anymore.
Arguments erupt over costumes, lines, and “special effects.” Someone proposes adding smoke, confetti, and dramatic lighting to make the resurrection “hit harder,” while another insists Easter must be intense to be meaningful. But halfway through rehearsal, the power goes out. In the sudden dark silence, their egos finally lose their stage. Someone reads Bible verses about Jesus’ humility and sacrifice, and the group is confronted with a simple truth: Easter isn’t about starring, it’s about serving the story. They strip the production down to what matters most and begin again, simply, with hearts re-aimed at Jesus.

Easter is about serving the story, not starring in it.
