WHAT
A chaotic, hilarious Christmas skit in which a narrator tries—desperately—to deliver a serious retelling of the biblical nativity story… but a group of middle schoolers keeps interrupting. They pitch their own creative, modern, wild, half-true, half-ridiculous versions of the Christmas story. Hoverboards, megaphones, pajamas, drones, and “wise men using Google Maps” all make an appearance.
Eventually, they settle down and agree to tell the real story of Jesus’ birth with respect, understanding, and joy.
THEME
Even when our imagination runs wild, the true story of Jesus’ birth shines through. Christmas is not about upgrades, jokes, or modern twists—it's about God coming to earth in love.

-
Narrator – Serious, well-meaning, easily frustrated
-
Student 1 – King/Queen of Wild Ideas
-
Student 2 – Tech genius, suggests modern gadgets
-
Student 3 – Fashion-obsessed, updates Mary’s wardrobe
-
Student 4 – Conspiracy theorist (“Are we SURE about shepherds?”)
-
Student 5 – Dramatic actor who overperforms everything

HOW
Staging is flexible. Students stand/sit in rows, step forward during scenes, argue, interrupt, and react. Narrator always attempts to restore order.
Comedy builds until the final shift where everyone reenacts the real nativity scene solemnly.
