WHAT:
The church youth drama club is holding open auditions for their annual Christmas play. Everyone wants the “big” parts — Mary, Joseph, the Angel, the Wise Men — but nobody wants to play the donkey. Or the sheep. Or the innkeeper's wife.
Amid dramatic monologues, cringey accents, interpretive dance attempts, and way-too-serious wannabe actors, the Director struggles to keep the auditions organized. In the end, a quiet girl who didn’t think she mattered is given the role no one wanted — and delivers the most heartfelt moment of the night.
THEMES:
Everyone matters · Humility · Serving God joyfully · Purpose · God’s story · Christmas
