A historical artifact — a small ceramic owl on loan from the local museum for the eighth-grade civics project — has gone missing from the school library. Five very different sleuths are on the case: the skeptical class president, the dramatic theater student, the science enthusiast, the quiet observer, and the logical problem-solver. Across fifteen brisk minutes, they trade clues, theories, alibis, and accusations — and learn something the syllabus did not list.
