A 15-minute VBS closing-rally skit that retells the parable of the lost sheep inside the building it was first preached in front of. A kid loses her favorite stuffed animal during opening worship. Everyone tells her to give up — there are 99 other things to do at VBS. One volunteer refuses. The two of them search every closet, sound booth, and choir loft until they find it. Then the volunteer turns to the audience and says, "Now flip it. That's how God looks for you."
Theme — He doesn't stop searching.
What you get
- Full PDF script — 6 scenes ending with a "now flip it" narrator beat (15 min runtime)
- Cast: 10 (Harper, Ms. Kay, seven Door Kids each holding a cardboard door, a Narrator)
- Each cardboard door reveals a wrong thing — a missing sock, an old church bulletin, a hymnal, a dust bunny, Pastor Greg in a closet with a coffee, a wrong sheep, and finally Harper's lamb
- Comedy carries the search — the heartbreak is door six (the wrong sheep), the redemption is door seven
- Director recovery cue built in — "Wrong door. Next one." keeps the procession moving
- Lands Luke 15 without ever quoting the chapter
Best for
VBS closing rally on Day 5, Luke 15 lessons, "lost and found" themed services, family chapel nights, Christian school chapels on God's pursuit, and any room where you want the parable of the lost sheep to land for kids who needed to hear that He does not quit.
