Inspired by a “12-day countdown” structure, the script presents twelve mini-scenes—each inspired by a number from 12 down to 1—showing memorable moments from the nativity story.

From twelve shepherds watching their flocks to eleven angels preparing their announcement, ten travelers heading to Bethlehem, and eight star-watchers scanning the sky, each number introduces a new group of characters and a fresh moment of storytelling. With humor, heart, and simple language accessible to young performers, the countdown builds anticipation until it reaches the manger itself.

The format is especially loved by teachers and directors because it:
