SUMMARY

Every year, the Christmas tree becomes the bright, sparkling centerpiece of holiday celebrations. But this year, it’s been accused of stealing too much attention. In this courtroom-style skit, a bewildered Christmas Tree is placed on trial. The Prosecutor argues that the tree has overshadowed the season’s true meaning. The Defense insists the tree can help point people back to that meaning—if people use it wisely.

Witnesses parade to the stand: excited children, an overworked parent, a shepherd from Bethlehem, a mall employee, and even an ornament with self-esteem issues. As the arguments unfold, the teens discover a deeper truth: symbols don’t steal meaning—people forget meaning. The result is a funny, warm, and reflective Christmas courtroom play where the verdict just may change how we see our own holiday traditions.
