WHAT:
The Sunday school team is decorating the church Christmas tree with the kids… and everything goes wrong. The ornament boxes were mislabeled, and instead of shiny balls and lights, they unpack socks, spoons, random toys, and mysterious “lost and found” treasures.
The more they try to fix it, the worse it gets — until one child suggests they decorate the tree with handwritten notes of gratitude, prayers, and praises. The result becomes the most meaningful Christmas tree the church has ever had.
THEMES:
Gratitude · Joy · Creativity · Heartfelt Worship · Christmas Meaning
WHO (5–6 ACTORS):
-
Ms. Joy — cheerful teacher, optimistic, tries to stay calm
-
Mr. Dan — assistant teacher, clumsy but helpful
-
Olivia — older student, creative and dramatic
-
Noah — logical child, easily confused
-
Bella — enthusiastic, chaotic energy
-
Micah — younger child, very silly
COSTUMES:
Simple church clothes, aprons for teachers, festive hats optional.
PROPS:
Tree, empty ornament hooks, big cardboard boxes, socks, spoons, toy dinosaur, shoe, bulletin, random props, paper & markers for “gratitude notes.”
WHY:
To help kids understand that what pleases God most is thankful hearts, not perfect decorations.
HOW:
Center stage is the tree. Left side has boxes and tables for sorting. Right side has craft supplies for later scenes. Props should be exaggerated and silly for maximum comedy.
