On Christmas Eve, Alex, an exhausted tech support agent, is assigned to a special holiday hotline dedicated to solving people’s Christmas-related tech emergencies. In a blur of rapid-fire calls, Alex helps one person escape a workout playlist when all they wanted was Christmas carols, calms a smart Christmas tree that won’t stop flashing during family prayer, and restores baby Jesus to a virtual nativity app after kids secretly replaced Him with a dancing cartoon elf. The hotline becomes a parade of relatable, tech-gone-wrong moments that keep Alex glued to their headset instead of enjoying the quiet beauty of the night.

As the evening spirals into even stranger calls—including a panicked Christmas play actor stuck with cat videos instead of Scripture and a grandmother convinced her smart speaker is “possessed”—Alex’s patience wears thin. But when the phones finally fall silent, Alex realizes they’ve spent the whole night helping others get to their carols and prayers without stopping to truly worship themselves. Turning off the screens and opening a real Bible, Alex remembers that Christmas is ultimately about being still before God, not being constantly connected. The skit ends with a gentle challenge to unplug, refocus on Jesus, and be present with the people right in front of us.

Why

The skit points to Psalm 46:10, where God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” In a season full of screens, apps, and constant notifications, we’re reminded that true peace at Christmas doesn’t come from perfectly working technology but from slowing down, turning our attention to Jesus, and remembering that God is with us.
