A group of adults gathers in the church fellowship hall to rehearse one simple Christmas carol for Christmas Eve. But “simple” disappears instantly when one person wants to debut an original worship song, another insists on singing in full Broadway style, one keeps mixing in lines from a carol mashup, and someone else can’t stop adding TikTok-style trends and moves. The rehearsal spirals into musical chaos and accidental comedy as they argue over style, tempo, microphones, and who gets to stand closest to the Christmas tree.

When it’s finally time to sing in front of the church, their performance is far from perfect—but their hearts are finally focused. In the middle of squeaky microphones, mixed-up lines, and awkward harmonies, they remember that Jesus came for real, imperfect people. The skit ends with a warm reminder that the joy of Christmas isn’t the perfection of the music, but worship offered honestly to Christ and shared.

• Ethan – Dramatic soloist with Broadway dreams; loves high notes and applause but learns humility.

• Lena – Passionate amateur songwriter; always trying to add an original song or poetic spoken word.

• Marco – Chill, techy guy who watches YouTube mashups and wants everything to sound “cool.”

• Tina – TikTok-obsessed; keeps adding trendy phrases and dance moves to the carol.

• Caleb – Sound/tech person and quiet musician; tries to keep peace, the sound system, and the timing under control.

The skit shows that their chaotic, imperfect carol becomes true worship when their hearts turn from impressing others to honoring Jesus together.

How

Perform with playful, energetic timing and musical chaos that still feels safe and fun. Actors can half-sing, hum, or jokingly “attempt” carols, without needing professional voices. The stage can be split into two “modes”:

• Rehearsal: more casual, people moving around.

• Performance: same space but slightly more formal, as if in front of the congregation.
