Summary
In this full-comedy, feature-style courtroom skit, the church puts its pastor “on trial” (the pastor is never on stage) for the outrageous crime of being “too faithful.” A dramatic Judge presides, a Prosecutor tries to prove the pastor is guilty of excessive compassion, and a Defense Attorney argues… the pastor is even more faithful than the accusations suggest. Witnesses take the stand to testify about late-night hospital visits, sermons preached through exhaustion, and steady love during hard seasons, while the courtroom erupts with hilarious objections like “Overuse of Scripture!” and “Refusal to cancel services!”
Adding to the chaos, the cast repeatedly breaks the fourth wall with a running gag about performance rights, video purchases, and whether the congregation’s laughter counts as “redistribution.” Just when the trial threatens to collapse under legal jargon and snack-related evidence, the story builds to a heartfelt, satisfying payoff: the pastor is found “guilty” of faithfulness and sentenced to something he rarely gives himself, honor, prayer, encouragement, and rest. Big laughs, big warmth, and a memorable centerpiece for Pastor Appreciation Day.
