North Pole News – The Bethlehem Broadcast
North Pole News: The Bethlehem Broadcast is a playful 8–10 minute Christmas skit that blends fun North Pole comedy with the true story of Jesus’ birth. Designed for 6–12 kids in 2nd–5th grade, it’s perfect for school Christmas concerts, children’s church, and holiday programs that want both laughs and meaning.
Set in a busy North Pole newsroom, a team of young reporters covers their usual stories—gingerbread problems, reindeer training, and snow forecasts—until breaking news arrives from far away in the town of David. A bright star is shining over Bethlehem, travelers are heading in the same direction, and something important is happening that’s bigger than Santa, snow, or Christmas tree lighting ceremonies.
As the “North Pole News Team” investigates, they interview:
-
A shepherd who tells of angels announcing “good news of great joy”
-
Wise men who followed the star to worship the newborn King
-
A traveler from Nazareth who explains Mary and Joseph’s long journey
Piece by piece, the kids retell the nativity story through fun “live reports” and interviews, with simple staging and minimal props. In the end, the newsroom delivers its first-ever biblical headline:
“Good news of great joy: A Savior is born!”
The skit closes with the cast leading a classic Christmas carol, making it a beautiful bridge between secular holiday cheer and the true meaning of Christmas.
