Description

Summary

This simple drama follows Joseph of Arimathea in the quiet hours after Jesus’ death, when the crowds have thinned, the disciples are scattered, and hope feels buried. Joseph is a respected man with reputation and position to lose, yet he chooses obedience over comfort. An elderly Narrator reflects on what it means to act faithfully when answers are not yet visible, bridging the silence of Good Friday with the promise of Easter.

Through Joseph’s decision to ask for Jesus’ body and to give his own tomb, the skit highlights a kind of courage that doesn’t look like shouting or fighting. It looks like doing the next right thing, even while grieving. The story reminds the church that faithful obedience matters even before we see resurrection, because God is still working in the dark, and morning is closer than it seems.

Obedience in the dark prepares us for the joy of dawn.
