Summary
A youth leader announces a simple opportunity: serve at a community outreach and help with a few church tasks. It should be easy, until a group of teens suddenly becomes world-class experts at excuses. One claims they’re “too busy,” another insists they’re “not qualified,” and another swears they’ll help “right after they become a better person.” The excuses get funnier and more exaggerated, but the truth underneath is real: delayed obedience often wears a costume called “reasonable.”
As the chaos builds, the leader pauses for a moment and shows how God’s calling usually isn’t about having perfect confidence or perfect timing, it’s about saying yes. The skit ends with one teen choosing obedience in a small, practical step, and the group is invited into a discussion about what excuses keep them stuck and what faithful action could look like this week.
Theme
Excuses delay obedience, but God calls us to act with faith today.
