Summary

A youth activity is about to begin, something simple connected to Bible studies and a service project. A youth leader explains that serving isn’t about being the best or most confident; it’s about being willing as part of the body of Christ. The students line up, ready to be assigned small tasks like setting up chairs, packing care bags, or welcoming people.

But instead of stepping forward to participate, students step out of line to present their reasons why they “can’t.” The excuses start normal, homework and nerves, then grow hilariously exaggerated: social anxiety about eye contact, needing to read a “privacy policy,” and waiting for a clearer “sign from God” before lifting a single napkin. One teen insists she’ll help “next week, when life is calmer,” as if calmness is scheduled.

A younger girl remains quietly in line, listening as excuse after excuse is announced. When the leader finally asks why she hasn’t stepped out, she simply replies, “I thought we were here to help.” The skit ends with a gentle reminder: God often works through willingness, not perfection, and obedience often begins right where excuses end.
