Excuses, Excuses
Description
A youth leader tries to recruit volunteers for a simple church activity that should take only a few minutes. Instead of stepping up, a group of teens responds with a rapid-fire parade of excuses, some believable, some wildly ridiculous, and all painfully familiar. From homework overload and sports practice to social anxiety and āneeding to read the privacy policy,ā every excuse feels like something a real student might say when theyāre uncomfortable, distracted, or afraid of looking uncool.
Halfway through, the Narrator pauses the action and drops a few short Bible verses about obedience and listening to Godās voice. The skit stays humorous without being mean, but the ending lands with a sudden, awkward silence: nobody volunteers, and the opportunity dies right there onstage. Itās funny⦠until you realize how often excuses quietly stop good things from happening in real life.
