“Daily Bread Dilemma” is a 5-minute children’s skit that uses clean humor to teach a simple truth from the Lord’s Prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread.” A boy wakes up with a long “wish list” for God—shoes, video games, snacks—but his friends help him realize that trusting God daily includes thanking Him for the small, faithful provisions: food, family, forgiveness, and today’s needs.
DAILY BREAD DILEMMA (5 minutes)
Cast (3–5):
-
KOBY – a boy with a big “wish list” (funny, not disrespectful)
-
ZEE – practical friend, quick humor
-
MIA – thoughtful friend, gentle teacher
-
Optional: MOM/DAD – brief cameo (can be voice offstage)
-
Optional: NARRATOR – if you want extra clarity for small children
Setting: Bedroom corner (chair/bed), then “school walkway” (same stage). Minimal props.
Props:
-
Notebook or clipboard labeled “My Prayer List”
-
Pencil/pen
-
Backpack
-
A small snack (real or pretend)
-
Optional: shoes to hold up / show
Tone: Light and playful. The point is not “don’t ask God,” but “remember gratitude and trust for today.”
