Summary
In the middle of a Catholic retreat, Sam literally tapes a big square on the floor and labels it: “MY COMFORT ZONE.” Sam refuses to step outside it for anything, prayer, worship, small group sharing, or service, insisting that God understands boundaries. Friends and leaders try every approach: bribery with snacks, dramatic worship invitations, logical arguments, and even “holy guilt,” but Sam’s feet stay planted inside the square like it’s sacred ground. The whole room becomes a comedy of excuses, overthinking, and relatable “I’m not ready” energy, especially for younger audiences who know what it’s like to feel awkward, afraid, or exposed.
Then the skit turns: a moment of honesty reveals that Sam’s comfort zone isn’t just preference, it’s fear. The retreat leader and friends respond with gentleness, short Scripture lines woven naturally into conversation, and a clear message: God doesn’t shame us out of comfort; He calls us forward with love. In a simple, powerful step, Sam finally crosses the tape, not to become perfect, but to trust. The “comfort zone” remains on the floor, but it’s no longer the boss.
