Christmas Unplugged
Description
About This Play
When a winter storm knocks out the power on Christmas Eve, a tech-addicted family finds themselves completely unplugged—no Wi-Fi, no phones, no distractions.
Forced to actually talk to one another (gasp!), they rediscover laughter, honesty, and the true light of Christmas that never goes out.
What begins as a stressful, screenless night soon turns into a series of heartfelt revelations. Between candlelight, board games, old carols, and a forgotten Bible, the Kirkland family and their neighbors learn that when the world goes dark, Christ’s light still shines.
Theme: When the world goes dark, the Light of Christ still shines.
Tone: Warm, humorous, heartfelt — a family drama with real emotion and a powerful message of hope.
Length: ~60 minutes (can be shortened for smaller performances)
Ideal For: Church services, family Christmas programs, youth or intergenerational casts
