Summary
Zane shows up to youth group with the confidence of a mall-kiosk legend and a mission: “sell” Christianity like it’s a product launch. He uses glossy sales language, promises instant happiness, and claims faith will “upgrade your life experience,” while suspiciously avoiding words like sacrifice, obedience, repentance, or change. He even offers “limited-time bonuses” like peace, purpose, and eternal life—no fine print… at least not at first.
But his friends aren’t buying it. They play skeptical customers and ask the honest questions people actually ask: “What about Bible study?” “Does free salvation come with responsibility?” “What happens when life gets hard?” Zane panics and starts adding disclaimers like a corporate privacy policy, trying to keep the pitch upbeat while his “terms and conditions” grow longer than a phone contract. A youth leader steps in to clarify the real good news: salvation is a free gift of grace, and following Jesus reshapes how we live. The gospel doesn’t need sales tactics. It’s powerful because it’s true.
