WHAT
A joyful, humorous, and reverent 20-minute Christmas skit retelling the night the shepherds saw the angel of the Lord, heard the good news of great joy, and hurried to Bethlehem to see the Savior. Younger children play angels and shepherds; older children narrate and guide the story with clear lines. The script blends laughter, biblical truth, and gentle theatricality.
THEME
When God sends good news, it meets us right where we are—whether tired, afraid, unsure, or excited. Jesus comes for ordinary people.
WHO
7–10 actors:
– Narrator 1 (Lead)
– Narrator 2 (Assistant)

– Shepherd 3 (Youngest / excitable)
– Angel of the Lord (Bright, confident, dramatic)
– Angels’ Choir (2–4 younger children)
– Optional: Townsperson, Animal Puppets
HOW
Actors move in simple lines and group formations. Narrators stand on the side. Shepherds gather around a “fire” made of tissue paper. Angels enter from behind or from the back of the audience. The skit uses exaggerated reactions from shepherds and reverent stillness for angel moments.
