Summary

This simple reader’s theater skit tells the Christmas story “straight” from Scripture, using clear voices instead of elaborate staging. A group of readers—Prophecy, Mary, Joseph, Shepherd, Wise Man, and Group Readers—take turns sharing what they saw, heard, and felt surrounding the birth of Jesus. The audience is invited to imagine the quiet town of Bethlehem, the shock of angels in the night sky, and the wonder of a baby in a manger who is also the promised Savior.

Designed for small churches or schools, the cast stand or sits with scripts in hand. With only a nativity set or a few simple props, the focus stays firmly on God’s Word. • Wise Man – Describes the long journey following the star and worshiping Jesus.

Why

The skit centers on Luke 2:11: “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

How

Readers stand or sit in a simple line facing the audience, scripts in hand. One small table at the front holds the nativity set.
