TITLE: A FAMILY AT THE CROSS
Summary
A Family at the Cross is a 45-minute Easter drama told through the eyes of a modern family of four—a mother, father, and two teenage children—who attend Easter service carrying silent tension, disappointment, and unspoken pain. As they sit beneath a large cross placed at the front of the church, scenes shift into biblical time, placing them beside Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, John, and a Roman centurion at Golgotha. The family begins as observers, but the cross steadily confronts their guarded hearts, bringing hidden burdens into the open. By the end, the resurrection message becomes personal: the cross is not only something they look at—it becomes the place where they learn honesty, forgiveness, and renewed hope. The play concludes with the family and the full cast declaring that Easter is meant to reshape real homes, real relationships, and real lives.
