Summary

A Church Family Remembers follows a church family preparing for Easter Sunday—arranging chairs, rehearsing scripture readings, coordinating music, and carrying real-life burdens into the sanctuary. As they practice the Easter story, biblical scenes unfold in parallel: the women approaching the tomb in the dark, the disciples behind locked doors, and the first moments of resurrection testimony.

An elderly man recalls Easter celebrations from his youth and how faith carried people through hard seasons. A young lady beginning her first nursing job reflects on hope and healing under pressure. A pre-med student wrestles with doubt and the limits of certainty. A small group of teens voices honest questions and grief, mirroring the disciples’ fear and confusion.

The play alternates between modern life and Jesus’ time, showing how the Easter story continues to bring new life today. Part 1 ends with the disciples still locked behind fear—until a knock and urgent testimony approach. Part 2 resolves the tension through proclamation, witness, and a gentle invitation to living hope.
