WHAT
A fast, hilarious classroom-style debate in which middle school students must argue why the first Christmas mattered, but they keep getting sidetracked with modern Christmas complaints — until the teacher pulls them back to the truth of Jesus’ birth.
THEME
Understanding Christmas means separating the noise from the real message: Jesus came to bring hope to the world.
WHO
-
TEACHER – Calm, patient, slightly overwhelmed
-
STUDENT 1 (MILA) – Loves arguing, dramatic
-
STUDENT 2 (TYLER) – Confused and chaotic
-
STUDENT 3 (JORDAN) – Overly logical, fact-checker
-
STUDENT 4 (AVA) – Holiday conspiracy theorist
-
STUDENT 5 (NOAH) – The one who actually read the assignment
-
Optional EXTRA STUDENTS for reactions and humor
HOW
Students sit at desks with clipboards and pencils like a debate team. They take turns giving arguments, but their comments get sillier and more exaggerated until the TEACHER brings them back to the real nativity story.
PROPS
Desks or tables, clipboards, pencils, a small nativity prop or picture of Bethlehem, optional gavel or bell for the teacher.
TIME
5 minutes
